MRI

Phew!!! I made it alive through an MRI. It wasn't at all like being in a coffin. I really must get over my fear of enclosed spaces and the nurses were lovely as they nearly always are, nurses are angels on earth really but that's another story entirely.

So now I'll hopefully find out what's holding up my knee rehabilitation and be able to get back into exercise properly. This will make me happy and far less anxious!

Please come and visit me at Etsy because that would make me happy too. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5544405

Yay, I'm finished!!!

I'm finised my earrings to match my rockey necklace and now I'm going to make a silver and copper brooch. Hoorah!

Anxiety

I must look into some actual research but my intuition tells me that creative and artisitic people are high strung. You know what I mean, more prone to anxiety and depression. I think it's probably because we look at things in a differnent way to others and when we look deeply (which we often do) we don't always like what we see.
I am a high school teacher and this in itself is a stressful occupation although most non-teachers will say harden up, I wish I had your hours and all those holidays.... All that aside teaching is a demanding profession and generally those who teach do so because they care about others and want to help them be all they can be. This can take its toll when those you wish to help don't want your help and they can be cruel demonstrating this to you!
So without being too "woe is me" it seems I carry the double burden around on my shoulders. Mostly I'm okay but sometimes I'm not and now in my 41st year I can tell the warning signs and do something about it before it gets out of hand. Anyway these school holidays my doctor has said exercise more, drink less, relax and do things that make me happy. So I'm focussing on my jewellery making.
Am loving my weekly class, especially now that one of my best girl friends (we've been friends from school) is doing it too. Now the biggest problem is deciding what to make. So many ideas swimming around in my brain! I have finally finished the stone necklace that I have posted pictures of already and am now making some earrings to match. Can't wait to wear them and say "I made these myself". That will make me happy! Watch this space.
